My name is Terry and this is my blog.

I am currently living in Los Angeles.

I like films, music, and don't even get me started on long walks on the beach.

I don't read a lot of books, but am always fishing for book recommendations.

My parents are Vietnamese and I was born in America.

That's all you really need to know upfront.

09/05/2007: "SILVERLAKE HIPSTER CRIME WATCH"

music: i'd rather shoot a woman than a man . . . .
mood: sad glad mad

Last week the beloved mural on Sunset Blvd next to Solutions Electronics and Repairs, which served as the Elliot Smith tribute wall, was grossly tagged by someone who goes by the moniker "Mouse." The size of the tag suggests that the person must have used a fire extinguisher as opposed to your standard spray can. LAIST covered the story last week, too. The comments are pretty interesting.

This past weekend whilst driving from Chinatown back to my apartment in Los Feliz with my parents and brother, little Francis spotted another one of the Mouse's tags in Echo Park off of Alvarado. I guess Mouse decided to be witty and a little more reckless in choosing the ethnic (and longer) name "El Mouser."

Seriously, who is this person and how does someone like this get away with such vandalism? I'm a big fan of commissioned murals and can understand the importance of non-commissioned artists such as Banksy, but this Mouse person takes it a little too far. Hopefully this person can be brought to justice. And by justice I mean being forced to listen to Elliot Smith records 24 hours a day in solitary confinement. YEAH!
