My name is Terry and this is my blog.

I am currently living in Los Angeles.

I like films, music, and don't even get me started on long walks on the beach.

I don't read a lot of books, but am always fishing for book recommendations.

My parents are Vietnamese and I was born in America.

That's all you really need to know upfront.

ASIAN BOOBIES!!!!!

music: one night to be confused . . . .
mood: fridays aren't as fun when you get old

Looks like Ang Lee's new film Lust, Caution is too sexy for the MPAA.

The awesome part of the article -

"The MPAA ratings board cited the film's graphic sexuality for its decision. A source said too many of the film's sex scenes violated the ratings board's unwritten rules (like the number of allowable pelvic thrusts, for example) to make an appeal possible.

Sources who have seen the film said it contains at least three scenes -- one a long montage -- featuring multiple acts of aggressive sexual activity in different positions. There's no full-frontal male nudity (the source of some NC-17 rulings when shown in sex scenes), but male-on-female oral sex, non-S&M restraints and several nontraditional sexual positions are depicted, conveying the aggression and emotional conflict between the main characters."

This gives all of us more incentive to go, because seriously, when was the last time YOU and a group of your friends went to an NC-17 film screening. My last NC-17 screening was 9 Songs, which blew (literal and figurative). Before that was a shitty French film called Base Moi, which means Rape Me. The usher described it as a pornpgraphic version of Natural Born Killers with the lesbian action of Bound. I was seriously let down, to say the least.

Martin Scorsese's Shine a Light Trailer

I'm actually excited to see this as I'm a fan of films about the Rolling Stones (Gimme Shelter, Sympathy For the Devil, 25X5, Rock N Roll Circus, Performance). Remember, Marty's pretty good with rock and roll and documentaries (The Last Waltz was so good I decided to write a paper on it in college), so this should be entertaining to say the least.

The film's title comes from my favorite Stone's song of all time, off their classic "Exile on Main St." album.

KANYE WEST

music: You'll have me suicidal, suicidal

I intend on wearing a hoodie all week with the hood up and shit, considering that today I had to dress like an elf at work. A picture will be posted once I find my USB cable.

In the meantime - here are two reasons why Kanye West rulez.
